Hurricanes can cause mass devastation and destruction to any
structure and it’s important to prepare your home or office from
potential damage. Twitchell Corporation’s OmegaTEX™ fabric, when
manufactured and designed within an approved screened system, is the
only transparent hurricane screen in the industry that passes the
Miami-Dade County HVHZ corner shot test. Additionally, it also passes
Florida and Texas Building Codes when manufactured within an enclosed
framed system.
Dealers utilizing the OmegaTex™ fabric in an approved system during
hurricane-strength winds up to 150-mph have reported that the system
held as designed and the fabric not only withstood the wind loads, but
no projectiles penetrated the fabric.
Twitchell’s unique fabric construction woven with PVC coated warp
(TEXTILENE™) and aramid yarn (yarns that make ballistic proof materials)
make OmegaTEX™ the right choice for any fixed or retractable hurricane
screen application that can be used 365-days a year without the worry of
degradation caused by the sun’s harmful U.V. rays. In addition to its
strength and U.V. resistance, OmegaTEX™ offers protection from wind,
rain, dust and debris, insects, and may even lower your energy
bills.
