Hurricanes can cause mass devastation and destruction to any structure and it’s important to prepare your home or office from potential damage.

Twitchell Corporation’s OmegaTEX™ fabric, when manufactured and designed within an approved screened system, is the only transparent hurricane screen in the industry that passes the Miami-Dade County HVHZ corner shot test.
Additionally, it also passes Florida and Texas Building Codes when manufactured within an enclosed framed system.

Dealers utilizing the OmegaTex™ fabric in an approved system during hurricane-strength winds up to 150-mph have reported that the system held as designed and the fabric not only withstood the wind loads, but no projectiles penetrated the fabric.

Twitchell’s unique fabric construction woven with PVC coated warp (TEXTILENE™) and aramid yarn (yarns that make ballistic proof materials) make OmegaTEX™ the right choice for any fixed or retractable hurricane screen application that can be used 365-days a year without the worry of degradation caused by the sun’s harmful U.V. rays. In addition to its strength and U.V. resistance, OmegaTEX™ offers protection from wind, rain, dust and debris, insects, and may even lower your energy bills.

OmegaTEX™ The All-In-One Screen Features:
  • Outstanding ratings in weatherability, mildew resistance, and abrasion resistance
  • Manufactured and tested within a retractable or fixed system will pass Miami-Dade, FBC, and TBC HVHZ projectile tests
  • 1250+ Burst Strength, PSI

To all our valued customers,

As you know, the World Health Organization declared a pandemic on March 11, 2020 due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Since the original warning we have limited all site access to employees only. Our manufacturing, production and warehousing facilities continue to monitor and enforce our high standards of health, sanitation and safety. We have advised any employee who has a fever, any type of respiratory issue, or otherwise feels unwell, to stay home, and we are taking other proactive measures to reduce the chance of contamination and spreading.

While this is one of the most challenging scenarios we have faced in almost 100 years of manufacturing in Alabama, by staying focused on you our customer and our employees we will work through this together.
We also wanted to provide you an update on what you can expect from us regarding your supply, knowing the situation is fluid, and we will continue to communicate actively with you as we learn.  We have taken, and will continue to take, the following precautionary actions to minimize supply disruption to our customers, including but not limited to:

  • Domestic manufacturing extruding yarn and weaving our products in Dothan, Alabama
  • Monitor all raw materials and finished goods sourced domestically and from countries severely impacted by the coronavirus
  • Build safety stocks of those raw materials and finished goods both at our facilities and at our distributors’ facilities in the United States, to the extent possible
  • Resource raw materials and finished goods from alternative suppliers who are not impacted, to the extent possible
  • Explore substitutes for those raw materials and finished goods, to the extent possible
  • Closely monitor stability of supply in impacted countries to best manage supply disruptions

We will continue to closely monitor the impact of the coronavirus and act accordingly to ensure limited disruption to you. Our priority to you is the safe and timely delivery of your product.
We will update you if and as circumstances change.

Be Well,

Paul Cleary, CEO

The T-1085 Pole Wrap is a revolutionary product used to protect poles in storage yards and during transportation on open-air flatbed trucks. The heightened strength to thickness ratio means more material per roll, less storage space, and less freight cost. T-1085 conforms well to varied surfaces and the thick poly film layer resists damage from forklifts and conveyors, adding an extra level of assurance that water will be kept away from the final product. It is available in custom colors, widths, & roll lengths and there are also multiple weight levels & performance options available. Each pole wrap is made from prime USA raw materials and is fully recyclable.

Sights to See:

Food:

Dothan is full of exciting food options that will have your mouth watering for more. KBC on Foster is the definition of an authentic, Southern restaurant. The head chef and owner is a current Top Chef contestant, and that is validation enough for how good it is. If you are craving a bit of spice in your life, go to Blue Moon Cafe, a Cajun and Creole restaurant downtown. They have everything you need to experience the Big Easy without actually being there. Need a sweet treat? Stop by Stix & Cones and grab some hand dipped ice cream in a homemade waffle cone or try one of their handcrafted pops. If you’re in search for a caffeine pick-me-up, swing by Mural City Coffee Company or Bird and Bean Coffee House. Both are sure to give you the jolt of energy you need to keep exploring the beautiful city of Dothan.

Where to Stay:

There are several excellent lodging options in and around the Dothan area. Whether you’re looking for a more traditional hotel vibe, a suite, or a quiet Bed& Breakfast, there’s plenty of room for everyone. Some of the higher ranking hotels in the area are the Hampton Inn & Suites, the Hilton Garden Inn, and the TownePlace Suites by Marriott, more recently built in March of 2017. If you are looking for a place to stay that has more of a down-home, Southern feel, drive about 20-25 miles to either the Marley House Bed& Breakfast or the Garden Path Inn Bed & Breakfast. Both have a quaint, vintage feel that will put even the most stressed mind at ease.

Warren’s top Dothan picks are just as eclectic as the city itself. For food, he loves dining at Taj for some delicious Indian cuisine. Afterward, he likes to drop by the already mentioned Bird and Bean Coffee House for an Irish cream mocha with an extra shot of espresso. Entertainment wise, Warren enjoys going to The Recovery Room to sing karaoke, and he advises readers to make sure to take a trip to Ravenwood Sporting Clays, an 18 hole skeet shoot course, before heading out of town.
